This year, JHS has started something called “Student of the Month.” Teachers get to send in students they notice going above and beyond in school. From this pool of students, teachers vote on who they think should receive the title.
In December, seven students were awarded with this honor. Freshmen Edward Seavy and Ella Bolt were chosen. Sophomore Carey Eggleston was the pick for his grade. For the juniors, Grace Fajardo and Reina Cisneros were the winners. And finally, the seniors chosen were Alexandra Carson and Quinton Renfro.
When asked how he felt when he received the news, Eggleston said, “It was unbelievable. It makes me feel good about myself.”
This will continue to go on, with teachers voting in a new group of students each month. Congratulations to these impressive students and all who will gain this honor in the future!
