Aidan Koch is a senior at Joplin High School who got a perfect score on the ACT. He participates in clubs like DECA, FBLA, Math League, National Honor Society, Modern Language, etc. He even got first place in the district Math League for solving a problem in the shortest amount of time. He also runs for Joplin cross country and track and field. Last year on a fateful day in October, Aidan got a perfect ACT score.
Aidan said, “I spent like 35 hours just taking the practice test but even more time analyzing where I was messing up. I completed my practice with more than 8 tests, and I studied an entire digital folder of notes that I’ve written from my classes and a lot of assessments for basic rules and information.”
In the eighth grade, Aidan took the ACT through national talent search and he got 27, then in high school during freshman year, he got 31, and, in tenth grade got a 35 on the ACT.
Aidan always loves to study mathematics and science, but he doesn’t enjoy English very much. That is, until he joined Mrs. Shelly Greninger’s English class, and Aidan started liking English. And It helped him a lot for the ACT.
Aidan said, “I’m self-motivated for the study, but still my mom motivates me to study and always tells me getting started sooner is key as well because life can get busy real fast and that makes me work hard.”
His parents and teachers are proud of him. Aidan started tutoring students for their ACT test. He provides his ACT digital folder to all the students. Aidan wants to study Business Management and Economics and wants to build a career in a university like Harvard or Brown University.
Aidan also said, “The score you get on the test doesn’t really define you and a low score always motivates you to do hard work and become better.”
